Architectural Design VI
Architectural Design VI emphasizes planning buildings while incorporating studies in the technologies of materials, structure, environmental controls, lighting, and acoustics. Recently, the students鈥� first project was motivated by the functions of bathing鈥攈ow the act can signify and promote physical as well as mental or spiritual cleansing and well-being. Similar to architecture, bathing caters to human comforts and engages the senses of air, water, and temperature. The emphasis of the second project was on designing in an historical, dense urban context. Students designed an artist compound/commune to be built on one of the vacant lots in the lower garden district of New Orleans.
