The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Art offers Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts programs with concentrations in digital art, graphic design, and studio arts, and a Master of Arts in Art History. The Bachelor of Art degree is a general art & design degree.
Tracks in studio art include the areas of ceramics, painting & drawing, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
OPPORTUNITIES
At ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, students have access to the facilities they need to create and learn. On-campus and off-site galleries offer robust program calendars and exhibit the work of local and national artists. Visiting artists work closely with graduate students and advanced undergraduates in studio classes and participate in individual critiques. Despite the abundance of student resources on campus, we believe that travel is crucial to an education in art and design. From field studies, excursions, and site visits to museum tours and study abroad programs, our students get around.
OUR STUDENTS
Students in our programs learn to work independently as well as collaboratively, and they develop a vocabulary with which to critique and discuss their own work and that of their peers. They learn how to be critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and well-rounded communicators. Through coursework in the studio art and design disciplines, art history and contemporary art theory, as well as the liberal arts and sciences, students foster the skills, understanding, and philosophical frameworks necessary to make their art and design practices relevant to historical and contemporary issues.
