School of Art students have access to the facilities they need to create and learn. The Design Shop, a traditional wood-working studio where students have access to state-of-the-art digital fabrication equipment including a 3D printer, laser cutter, and CNC mill, is located in the Art Building. Students can rent photography and lighting equipment and access more 3D printers and a 3D scanner while learning effective communication skills specific to their individual disciplines at the Communication across the Curriculum (CxC) Art & Design Studio. Each studio area within the School of Art has facilities specific to the discipline, as well, which are highlighted under programs.
On-campus and off-site galleries, such as the Boyce Gallery and Glassell Gallery, offer robust program calendars and exhibit the work of local and national artists. These galleries provide opportunities for students to exhibit their own work.
Students seeking academic advice can meet with counselors in the Office of Student Services, located in the heart of the college on the second floor of the Design Building.
Beyond the studio, networking opportunities with fellow students, faculty, alumni, and professionals abound through the School of Art’s many student organizations. School of Art students have a myriad of opportunities to travel and study abroad, including programs in Ireland, Florence, London, and New York.
